Negros Oriental boasts of 1,377.6 km. of scenic white and golden sandy beaches. Each of the 17 coastal municipalities and cities has its own unique and mystifying beaches to choose from. Some Attractions within the Region: Apo Island -- A haven for scuba divers. It a wide array of corals and marine life. The Negros Oriental Marine Conservation program in its Marine Park has kept the underwater wonders in excellent condition. Canlaon Volcano - stands 8,085 ft. above sea level. Its cool atmosphere gives a similar setting to Baguio in Luzon. Twin Lakes Balinsasayao and Danao - A trekking area for the adventurous. Giant trees, ferns and lush greenery unfold the astoundingly serene lakes with its fish stocks located in Sibulan.

A few years ago, tourism in the island of Bohol was seasonal as the industry was yet starting to develop. But today, Bohol's tourism is already an all-year-round industry. The island is richly blessed with so much natural, historical, and cultural beauties and wonders which attracted tourists from every corner of the globe. For the past 2 to 3 years, the industry has been growing rapidly such that the small domestic airport in its capital city could no longer conviniently accommodate the ever increasing influx of tourist arrivals in this paradise island. But hopefully soon, with the completion of the new Bohol Airport project, the problem of congestion will be solved and the influx of tourist arrivals is expected to greatly increased even more. If Bohol will be properly managed by its leaders and successors, it has the potential to develop like Singapore, considering that Bohol has a strategic geographical location and has very rich natural resources.

Lake Sebu is also a natural lake located in the municipality of Lake Sebu. The Philippine government has recognized it as one of the country's most important watersheds. Lake Sebu is one of the many bodies of water supplying important irrigation to the provinces of Sultan Kudarat and South Cotabato. The villages around the lake have been turned into an independent municipality called Lake Sebu after being a former village of Surallah.
